ABOUT US
After more than 40 years in property development and construction, Paul Lofitis decided to pursue his lifelong passion for thoroughbredracing and breeding—applying the same strong values, commercial acumen, integrity, and relationship-focused principles that made his first business, Lofts, so successful. When he purchased the former Mick Kent stables in Cranbourne in 2019, the property featured just 36 boxes and a single walker. Under Paul’s leadership, it has quickly grown into the largest off-track horse training facility in Cranbourne, now boasting 213 boxes, 41 day yards, 6 walkers, and a sub-zero spa. This modern complex embodies Lofty Group’s unwavering commitment to creating the ideal environment for both horses and trainers.
Paul first partnered with Julius Sandhu, a boutique trainer in Cranbourne whose genuine care and hands-on dedication to each horse inspired Paul’s initial investment in racing. Their collaboration led to the rise of Lofty Group’s first stallion, Lofty Strike, fuelling Paul’s deepening love for racing and reinforcing his commitment to the industry.
Since that formative partnership, Lofty Group has forged strong relationships and worked with additional on-site trainers, including Freedman Racing and ACR Racing. The group has now owned and raced over 60 horses, celebrated more than 50 wins, and maintains a growing roster of more than 30 horses, including three broodmares and multiple weanlings. Lofty Strike, now standing at Swettenham Stud, anchors Lofty Group’s expanding breeding program.
Our Vision
Our mission is to build and maintain a state-of-the-art facility that upholds the highest standards of horse health and well-being while also providing trainers and owners with convenient access to a comprehensive range of on-site and off-site services. We aim to foster an environment where racing and breeding thoroughbreds can thrive at every level by continually improving our Cranbourne training complex.
Looking ahead, Lofty Group is expanding its involvement in breeding and syndication, leveraging our industry relationships and our first-year stallion, Lofty Strike, to strengthen our position in the thoroughbred sector. Given how quickly we have grown since our inception, we are excited about the future and remain committed to making a positive, lasting impact on the horse racing industry.
